Contractual HP police jawan meet CM, assures to end the discrimination

Himachal Pradesh Police Jawan who are facing discrimination vis-a- vis to others government employees today turned up in large numbers at Chief minister residence Oakover here today.
Number of jawan in police uniform turned up in Oakover and peacefully protested to end the decades long discrimination against contrucutal police jawan.
Chief minister Jai Ram Thakur turned out and address the police jawan accepting the discrimination being metted out against number of them couldn’t be regularised. 
During JCC meeting state government decided to reduce the contrucutal period to three years from two years for the other government employees yesterday, Chief minister said that police jawan couldn’t be appointed on the contractual basis like others jawan however number of jawan who joined services before 2013 are still being discriminated as they were hired on contract basis.
Police jawan could not complete eight years of contrucutal period also knock the door of court after they are victimed, Mr Thakur said that decision of court came in their favour which said that police jawan are not like others Employees and they could not be recruited on the contractual policy.
“State government have tried to consider the demand of contractual police jawan for regulation however their pay scale falls below than forest guard and equal to home gaurd jawan” Chief minister said.
State Finance controller and Finance secretary would be asked to held consultation with the Protesting employees shortly to resolve the issue in which three representatives of Police would be invited, he said.
There is need to bring out some solution to resolve this issue as state want to do justice with police jawan  and jail gaurd who are still working on contractual basis after completing eight years of contract period, CM told the jawan.
It is worthwhile to mention here that similar issue was also raised by Dalit right activists Karam Chand Bhatiya however state police booked him under sedition charges.
Mr Bhatiya has now knock the door of Himachal Pradesh High court to quesh the FIR into sedition Charges  against him which is likely to be hear by the court shortly.
