Congress seeks decision on the fate of two MLA joins BJP ahead of Presidential Election

State Congress party has demanded to give decision on the petition filed by two independent MLAs, Hoshiar Singh, MLA from Dehra and Prakash Rana, from Jogendra Nagar, who had joined the BJP ahead of the July 18 presidential election.  Leader of Opposition Mukesh Agnihotri said in a press statement issued here today  that he had filled a petition to disqualify both independent MKA for breach of Antidefaction law. ” Speaker Vipin Parmar should decide his petition  before the voting for the Presidential elections. ” Leader of Congress party said. It is worthwhile to mention here that in 2017 assembly elections as an independent MLA from Dehra, Hoshiyar Singh, defeated former minister Ravindra Ravi and Independent MLA (Jogindernagar) Prakash Rana defeated Gulab Singh Thakur,  both list BJP candidates are considered former Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal the loyalists. Giving shock to Dhumal camp, Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur and BJP President Suresh Kashyap recently offered the primary membership to both Independent MLAs who are also included in the BJP legislative party meeting held twice in Chandigarh and Baddi in connection with Presidential Election.  “As the country is going to vote for the post, Leader of Opposition” Mukesh Agnihotri said that the issue of both of them should be decided by speaker before voting. Since  matter is pending before the Speaker of the Assembly, Mukesh demanded from him to settle it before voting. Remember, the BJP has gone ahead of the Congress in campaigning for the Democratic Alliance-backed candidate Daupadi Murmu for the presidential elections. Meetings have also been called twice.In one of these meetings held in Baddi on July 1, Murmu himself sought votes. But Congress party said that till now nothing had happened. Mukesh Agnihotri said that whatever instructions would be given from the high command, they will be followed. All eyes on Anil Sharma there, Mandi Sadar, which has been set aside for a long time. Election for Presidential poll also become increasingly i  the state as All eyes are on the political corridors about what steps BJP MLA Anil Sharma would take on the day of polling. Anil Sharma was absent from the meetings of the BJP Legislature Party convened in support of Murmu on June 23 and July 1. Anil Sharma who is kept out by ruling party from Legislative party meeting stated that on June 23 and July 1 , BJP legislative party meeting he was not invited for the meeting on very short notice due to which he couldn’t attend any  meeting  held at Chandigarh and Baddi. Remember, Anil Sharma has been sidelined by the BJP before the last Lok Sabha elections. Then his father late Sukh Ram and his son Aashray Sharma had joined the Congress and Aashray had contested the Lok Sabha elections on a Congress ticket and he was defeated. After this, Anil Sharma had to leave the Jairam cabinet. Now it is yet see if he would decide to cross-voting on the polling day on July 18. In 68 members Assembly BJP have 45 MLA , Congress 22 and One CPI(M). In the state BJP have three each MP for LS and RS and Congress One LS MP.
