Congress is constantly increasing the burden on the people of Himachal: Suresh Kashyap

BJP’s former state president and MP Suresh Kashyap said that the Congress government is constantly increasing the burden on the people of Himachal Pradesh. When elections come, the leaders of the Congress government promise public service to the people, but as soon as the elections are over, these same leaders decide on a policy to increase the burden on the pockets of the people.

He said that after the police, now this Congress government is thinking about student women subsidy. The cabinet has made the bus travel of police personnel on annual ticket. After this, now the thinking has started on the free travel being given to students and half discount being given to women. According to HRTC, the annual expenditure of Himachal Pradesh Police constables who travel in buses is about 36 crores. This used to provide convenience to the police personnel, now they will also get tickets and after that will also request the government for a refund, so this is a new work created for the police personnel, which is a big inconvenience. Police personnel contribute 210 rupees every month in return for this, this government does not see it.

He said that the Himachal government provides free bus travel to students of government schools, 50 percent fare is waived for women. The cabinet is yet to take a final decision on both these expenses. Himachal Pradesh Road Transport Corporation makes six lakh people travel every day with its fleet of 3700 buses. Out of this, two lakh are children from government schools, while around 160000 women travel every day. What the Congress government wants to show by closing this scheme is that it wants to manage to put a burden of Rs 400 crore on women and children.
In Himachal Pradesh, water is expensive, electricity is expensive, cement is expensive, diesel is expensive, just inflation is rampant.
