Congress government is anti-employee: Kashyap
Former BJP State President and MP Suresh Kashyap said that the present Congress government is anti-employee government.
The way employees are on the streets across the state and demanding their rights, it is completely clear that this government is anti-employee. In Himachal Pradesh, employees of all sections, be it doctors, IPS, PWD, police, outsourcers, SMC, HRTC, electricity board, pensioners, all corporations and boards, are troubled and frustrated.
He said that on the occasion of Statehood Day, the pensioners had full hope from Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu that there would be some announcement on the financial benefits payable to the pensioners, but the pensioners were disappointed. It was expected that at least one installment of dearness allowance would be released to meet the 80 percent arrears of pension revision, gratuity, leave-en-cashment, commutation, installments of dearness allowance, lack of adequate budget to pay medical bills, etc. It will be announced. It has been more than a year since the tenure of the new government, but the government’s indifference towards senior pensioners is increasing. Medical bills worth lakhs are not being paid by the departments for years despite the amount being spent out of pocket for the treatment. Many pensioners or family pensioners have left this world. The legal heirs of the deceased pensioners have not yet received even a single penny from the government.
He said that the state government has made changes in the R&P for the post of Shastri. Against this, unemployed Shastris opened a front against the government in Shimla under the banner of the Sanskrit and Culture Conservation Association. The Sangh has accused the government of destroying Sanskrit instead of promoting it. Bharatiya Janata Party agrees with this. The government has changed the R&P rules for Shastri posts citing NCTE, due to which the future of Shastris is in danger. The government has recognized BA along with Sanskrit and B.Ed for Shastri posts and Shastris are being asked to do B.Ed. Whereas four to five thousand Shastris are unemployed in the state.
Kashyap said that SMC teachers have once again warned of going on a hunger strike to demand a permanent policy. We are with these employees.
2555 teachers in the state are still waiting for their rights. The Chief Minister had said that the cabinet has become a sub-committee for him. A cabinet sub-committee was formed by the government on June 28, 2023, but this committee has not been formed till date. After this the MMC members again met Education Minister Rohit Thakur. The Education Minister had said that at present the government does not have a budget for SMC. He said that does the government not have a budget only for SMC. Unfortunately, the government is not working on the cabinet sub-committee formed so far. SMC teachers have been serving in schools for 12 years.
