Congress government increased the problems of urban bodies, recalled the grant-in-aid amount: Dharmani

60 urban bodies including 5 municipal corporations of the state will have to return 50 percent grant-in-aid. BJP state spokesperson Mahendra Dharmani, while commenting sharply on this action of the state government, said that it is unfortunate that the way Municipal Corporations and urban bodies are reducing this grant to 20% and calling back the remaining amount.

This amount is received from the government every year in four parts, which strengthens the development taking place in all these institutions. In this time of disaster, this body has been affected the most and when this amount has been recalled by the government, it will have a very negative impact on the work being done, many public representatives have even made plans for the work to be done with this amount and Had also got it approved. There are many institutions where they are not able to pay even this salary to their employees. This amount also plays a big role in this. Due to poor economy, these institutions have been affected the most.

The Congress government is saying that this amount will come every month, but a question mark has been raised on this process, if this amount does not come in the coming time, then these bodies will suffer a big loss.

BJP has made every effort to increase this amount during its government. Every year this amount was increased by 5 to 10%.

60 urban bodies including 5 municipal corporations of the state will have to return 50 percent of the grant-in-aid. This has increased the problems of urban bodies engaged in making rehabilitation plans after the tragedy. The Director of the Urban Development Department has written a letter to the Commissioner of the Municipal Corporation, the Executive Officer of the Municipal Council and the Secretaries of the Nagar Panchayats, directing them to return the grant. In the month of July, the Sixth State Finance Commission had released grant-in-aid of about Rs 153.64 crore to all the urban bodies. Out of this, Rs 76.82 crore will have to be returned. After receiving Grant-in-Aid, the urban bodies have made various development plans and also released the budget. In such a situation, it has now become difficult for them to return 50 percent of the Grant-in-Aid. Grant-in-aid was being issued to urban bodies in one lump sum, but now it will be issued every month. The grant in aid of Rs 30.89 crore received by the Municipal Corporation for rehabilitation is also less, but now the Shimla Municipal Corporation will have to return Rs 15.44 crore out of this. Under the Sixth State Finance Commission, a total of Rs 67.49 crore was released to the five municipal corporations including Shimla. Out of this, Rs 33.74 crore will have to be returned. To return Rs 5.32 crore out of Rs 10.64 crore to Dharamshala Municipal Corporation, Rs 4.38 crore out of Rs 8.77 crore to Solan Municipal Corporation, Rs 4.30 crore out of Rs 8.60 crore to Mandi Municipal Corporation and Rs 4.29 crore out of Rs 8.58 crore to Palampur Municipal Corporation. Will be. There are 29 municipal councils in the state. Rs 66.60 crore were released to all these Municipal Councils under Grant in Aid, but 50 percent of this i.e. Rs 33.30 crore will have to be returned.
