Cong hopes victory in upcoming SMC poll
State Congress unit said that it would win upcoming Shimla Mincipal Corporation Election wrestling civic body from ruling BJP, HPCC chief Kuldeep Singh Rathore said while presiding over party Manifesto Committ for the SMC at Rajiv Bhawan here today. He said repeating party victory on the line of recently held by election in the state and civic body polls it would emerge victorious in the SMC wrestling the power from ruling party. He said that party had invited suggestions from people to include in the party’s manifesto. He said that manifesto would be completely focused on providing relief to the people as well as solving their problems who suffered due to indecisive and misrule of BJP in last five years. He said that people of town were foreced to pay hefty power, water, garbage bills and bus fare was increased twice in last five years. “A draft for the development of the newly merged areas should also keep their demands as commerical charges of water and power being charged from them” Mr Rathore said.The entire development of Shimla city took place during the Congress and former Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh government.The BJP ruled Municipal Corporation has proved to be a complete failure in resolving the people problems. The Menifesto would completely devoted towards the development of Shimla town sofar facing stepmotherly treatment being met after ban on the construction activities by the NGT.
