Community & Family medicine department marks World Immunization Day at AIIMS Bilaspur

The Community & Family Medicine department at Civil for Rural Health, Markand, Bilaspur, recently organized a community awareness program to commemorate World Immunization Day. The event, centered around the theme “Vaccines for All: Protecting Communities and Building Health Equity,” aimed to emphasize the significance of accessible and equitable vaccination for all.
Approximately 45 participants, including local residents, attended the program. Second-year MBBS students took the lead in educating the public about the crucial role of vaccines in preventing diseases. They highlighted the benefits of vaccination, particularly for children and adults, and provided information on the vaccines available under the Universal Immunization Program.
Faculty members from the department focused on the importance of adult vaccination, emphasizing the need for vaccines like adult BCG and other immunizations for vulnerable populations.
By raising awareness about the benefits of vaccination and addressing misconceptions, the department hopes to encourage greater vaccine uptake and contribute to the overall health and well-being of the community.
