CM defends HP DGP over complaint of HP HC lawyer
Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur today defended the Director General of Police Sanjay Kundu after he was blamed by a High court lawyer Jyotika Sharma for involving her in a police case by acting as ‘Thanedar’ as a complaint was pending before Himachal Pradesh High court bar association.
Addressing media person here today Mr Thakur said that Mr Kundu went to Ashram or worship place on his behast as a complainant was also made to him by the members of Ramkrishan Mission against the accused lawyer for creating nuisance.
“When I was contacted time and again on the matter related to Hindu religious place Mr Kundu was directed by him to probe the matter himself” Chief minister told Media person today.
“It was unfortunate that the accused came on the spot and created nuisance in the religious place in his presence as she was carrying dogs which entered in the worship place which is not good precedence in the Devbhumi.”
In a meeting convened by the HPHCBA today as many as 100 to 120 bar members attented the proceedings which held between 1315 hrs to 1420hrs on Tuesday.
A vedio clipping submitted by Ms Joyitka Sharma along with complaint showing DGP on spot was played in the meeting. It was decided by the bar members to hand over memorandum the Government of India, Governor of Himachal Pradesh, Chief Minister, Chief Secretary and acting chief justice of Himachal Pradesh for taking cognizance in the matter.
On Monday Ms Sharma submitted a complaint to HPHCBA against the DGP for involving her in a frivolous case and behaving as if he is a Thanedar.
A notice had also issued by the President of HPHCBA Mr Nareshwer Singh Chandel on receiving of complaint from Ms. Jyotika Sharma who is an Advocate and member HP High Court Bar Association.
The complainant alleged that the DGP Himachal Pradesh Mr. Sanjay Kundu has misbehaved with her and has falsely implicated her in a case under sections 107 & 151 of Cr.PC.
Bar President,Mr Chandel, said that there was a dispute on the ashram property where the complainant’s father is a trusty.
DGP Kundu apparently called the complainant to a temple in the ashram last Saturday on the pretext of solving the issue. When she reached there, he apparently humiliated her.
Himachal Pradesh Director General of Police Sanjay Kundu said that case against the Jyotika Sharma was registered as per the law.
Responding to media query Mr Kundu said that she is accused as per law.
“Cases are going against her and her father for cheating, forgery, trespass etc. in criminal courts.” Mr Kundu said .
He further added that she goes to the sacred temple daily with her dog and terrifies the priests.
Matter arose to a hundreds of years old property belonged to Braham Samaj near AG Office Shimla and Vidhan Sabha which have heritage ashram and about five bigha land in the heart and posh area of town.
For many years the property was in occupation or possession of trust members of Brahma Samma but recently the possession of this property was handed over to Ram Krishna Mission.
Last care taker of this trust was a woman but national trust of Kolkata decided to handed over its possession and care taking to Ram Krishna Mission.
The local care takers and trustees have now reportedly challenged the handing over of this property in the court and matter is under dispute.
