Cleanliness service campaign will be celebrated from 17 September to 2 October in Shimla

Cleanliness Service 2024 campaign will be conducted on the theme of nature cleanliness-culture cleanliness from 17 September to 2 October 2024 The campaign will start on the occasion of 10th anniversary of Swachh Bharat Mission on the birthday of Prime Minister Narendra Modi from September 17 and will conclude on October 2 on the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi.

This information was said by Additional Deputy Commissioner Shimla Abhishek Verma during the meeting of the district level cleanliness campaign.
He said the campaign will be run across the district. Cleanliness goals cannot be achieved until we adopt cleanliness in our behavior. We have to make cleanliness an important part of our lives. He said the three pillars of the cleanliness service campaign have been created. The first column is the participation of hygiene with students and youth participation focused on hygiene songs, dance, quiz, poetry lessons and nookdrama will be held at various places. Will focus on waste management, complete cleanliness and waste to art in the presence of citizens and experts at various locations in the district. During the campaign there will also be slogan writing programs focused on hygiene. Special programs on cleanliness will be held at government offices and public places. Special campaign for waste collection will run locally.
The second column in this is on activities on the targeted unit. Places will be marked during the campaign where cleaning is specially needed. Cleaning campaign will be conducted at a widespread level at such places. There will also be specially organized plantation programs. Public toilets repairs will be given special attention in those places. Volunteers recognition, participation of industrial groups and outstanding workers will be honored to increase participation in group cleaning work.

As the third pillar of the campaign, decision will be taken regarding health checkup and social security of cleaning friends.

All departments participating in the meeting have been given detailed guidelines regarding the works being done under the campaign. District level coordinator of this campaign will be the additional deputy commissioner Shimla. In addition to this, officials of Urban Development, Panchayat Raj and Rural Development Department, Education Department, Health Department, Tourism Department, Information and Public Relations Department, Public Works Department, Water Power Department, Forest Department, Women and Child Development Department and Language and Culture Department will also be present.

During the conclusion of the campaign on 2nd October 2024 will be celebrated as Swachh Bharat Day. This will be honored to the people and units doing well throughout the campaign. On this occasion, cleanliness participation, cleanliness targeted unit, cleanliness friend security camp, clean food street, clean India Abhiyan festival and exhibition on Swachh Bharat Mission etc will also be organized.
