Children planted medicinal plants in Peeran School
Under the campaign ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’, Van Mahotsav was celebrated by Anchal Eco Club in Government Senior Secondary School Peeran. Principal Mahesh Sharma inaugurated the plantation campaign by planting a Dadu (Plumeria) tree. Children and staff planted more than a hundred medicinal plants of different species around the school premises.
Principal Mahesh Sharma told that forests are very important in human life. Forests play a central role in controlling climate change on Earth, absorbing atmospheric carbon, and producing oxygen. He told that forests prevent soil erosion, help in water conservation, and conserve biodiversity of different species. He appealed to all the children and said that during the rainy season, every person should compulsorily plant trees on the vacant land around his house, only then the conservation of the environment is possible. Eco Club Incharge Meera Parihar gave detailed information to the children about the importance of medicinal plants.
