Chandigarh university crime – HP Police arrests accused wanted by Punjab police
Himachal Pradesh Director General of police Sanjay Kundu stated here today that state police nabbed an accused wanted by Punjab police in Chandigarh University crime case. reacted to request of Punjab Police with sensitivity & professionalism.”We nabbed the accused.” He congratulated SP Shimla Dr Monika Bhutunguru SP & her team for great professional work. The accuseds was booked by PP in connection of the alleged leaked video from Chandigarh university. The accused was arrested from Dhali Police station. As per reports an obscene video of of 60 victim taking bath in a hostel bathroom of Chandigarh University was leaked on social media. Unconfirmed reports said that alleged video was shhot by a girl living in the same hostel, whereafter she sent it to her friend who lives in Shimla, who leaked it on internet.The issue came to light when after the video went viral on social media, the students were stunned to see it. Afterwards the aggrieved students took up to a agitation in the university campus. There are also unconfirmed.reports that after the said alleged video came on internet, around 8 girls who became vicitm tried to do a suicide. One girl of them has been reported go have been hospitalised. However this information has not been confirmed by either university management or the Mohali police.
Reportedly, the prime accused girl has been arrested and ahe has admitted to the crime. She has admitted that she had sent the said video to a boy living in Shimla, who further uploaded it on internet. State cyber crime additional SP Narvir Rathore told UNI that matter was not being probed by the state cyber cell and no FIR was logged in the state about said matter.
