CEO hold high level security meeting for by- Election

Election Department convened a high level security meeting here on Thursday with top police officers of state and district to ensure free and fair beside strictly implementation standard operating procedures for covid-19 during the election process.

 The Chief Electoral OfficerbC Palrasu expressed happiness over the action being taken by the police and encouraged the police personnel to maintain law and order during election compaiging.
 During the meeting also attended by Director General of Police Mr Sanjay Kundu the officer discussed various topics including maintaining law and order  in view of the by-elections of Mandi Lok Sabha constituency and Arki, Fatehpur and Jubbal-Kotkhai assembly constituencies.
CEO stressed that during the election campaign and polling emphasis should be laid ensuring compliance of the norms related to COVID-19 in letter and spirit. 
 He said that inorder to continuously monitor  compliance of COVID-19 rules during the election process, they should take prompt and strict action in cases of violations ensuring wearing of masks, proper distancing and use of sanitizers during public meetings and virtual meetings.
  Instructions were also given to take strict steps if breeches of guidelines found frequently.
 In the meeting, an appeal was also made to encourage the police personnel discharging election duty for 100 percent voting. 
 CEO asked the official to take appropriate steps for the security of EVM machines  and other election material in the polling stations, strong room and during their transport to various places. 
 Instructions were also given to appoint Central Security Forces in sensitive places, strictly prohibit peddling and sales of illicit liquor  keeping a special watch on its trafficking.
 The meeting was also attended by Additional Director General of Police (Law and Order) Ashok Tiwari, Inspector General of Police (CID) Daljit Thakur, Inspector General of Police (Crime) Atul Phuljhele, Additional Inspector General of Police (Headquarters) Sakshi Verma, Police of all three ranges. 
 Inspector General and Deputy Inspector General of Police, Superintendent of Police (CID) Sandeep Bhardwaj, Superintendent of Police (Law and Order) Bhagat Thakur and Superintendents of Police, Deputy Superintendents of Police and SHOs of all the eight districts associated with the by-election were present through virtual medium.
