CEO burnt the effigies Ravana, Kumbhakaran and Meghnath
Chief Electoral Officer Himachal Pradesh C. Palrasu set the the effigies of Ravana, Kumbhakaran and Meghnath at fire in the Ravana Dahan program in the traditional Dussehra festival organized at Jakhu Temple today.
On this occasion, he wished all the people of the state on the occasion of Vijay Dashami, praising the victory of truth over untruth, victory of good over evil.
He said that we should move forward by imbibing the relevance of this day and the teachings of Maryada Purushottam Lord Shri Ram.
On this occasion, Divisional Commissioner GK Srivastava, Secretary to the Governor Priyatu Mandal and Expenditure Supervisor Mahesh Jivade also made the top of the temple and offered prayers.
On this occasion, Deputy Commissioner Shimla Aditya Negi also presented citations to the students of Fine Art Department of Government Colleges Sanjauli and Kotshera, who made effigies of Ravana, Kumbhakaran and Meghnath.
He said that each artist would be given an amount of Rs 2100 by the temple trust.
On this occasion Assistant Commissioner Dr. Poonam, Sub-Divisional Officer Shimla BR. Sharma and Tehsildar Sumedh Sharma were also present.
