Cabinet expansion likely before 1 year celebration of the Himachal Congress government
The Nine-member Himachal Pradesh Council of Ministers may be expanded before the completion of one one-year term by the Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu government in the state.
According to reliable sources, Himachal Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu rushed for Delhi this afternoon. Earlier to this he had a courtesy call with Himachal Governor Shiv Shukla at Raj Bhavan.
Party sources indicate that Mr. CM may take party president Mallikarjun Khadgae, Rahul Gandhi, and Priyanka Gandhi in confidence after making three new choices of new induction of cabinet members as three posts are still falling vacant in the council of ministers.
Chief minister likely to invite party senior leader to one-year celebration function of this government likely to be held in Dharmshala on December 11. On this occasion, the government is planning to organize a major show of strength in Kangra.
Among them, Rajesh Dharmani from Bilaspur, Yadvendra Goma from Kangra, Sudhir Sharma, Bhavani Singh Pathania, RS Bali and Sanjay Ratna, Rajendra Rana from Hamirpur and Vinay Kumar from Sirmaur are also in the race. But, only two of them can be made ministers. The final approval on these will be given after discussion with the high command.
There are currently 9 ministers in the Sukhu cabinet including the Chief Minister and the Deputy Chief Minister. Three posts of ministers are vacant. Sources say that at present two ministers can be appointed, the third minister can be appointed a few days before the Lok Sabha elections.
Sources reveal that all three posts of ministers will not be filled yet. One post may be left vacant. The third post can be filled after the decision of the case going on in the High Court regarding CPS.
Currently, there are 3 ministers from Shimla district, Rohit Thakur, Anirudh Singh and Vikramaditya Singh, Dhaniram Shandil from Solan, Chandra Kumar from Kangra, Jagat Singh Negi from Kinnaur and Harshvardhan Chauhan from Sirmaur. Whereas, the Assembly Speaker from the Chamba district is Kuldeep Pathania.
