Himachal Bye Election Notification : code of conduct came in force
With issuance if notification today by Election Commission of India for holding of bye elections for Mandi Lok sabha seat and three assembly seats of Himachal Pradesh namely Jubbal- Kotkhai, Fatehpur and Arki Election Code of Conduct came in effect from today.
District Election Officer and Deputy Commissioner Shimla Aditya Negi in a oder passed here today said that in wake of the announcement made by the Election Commission, the state government has imposed a Model code of conduct in whole or part of the areas where elections would be held.
He said that during the bye-election 65-Jubbal Kotkhai Assembly Constituency and 66-Rampur Constituency-2 Mandi Parliamentary Constituency, distribution of money, liquor and other things to entice voters or giving bribe is a punishable offence.
He said that flying squads have been formed under each police station to keep an eye on the distribution of money, liquor and other items in the constituency during the election period.
He appealed to the general public that to avoid carrying of cash by the flying squad during the bye-election 2021, no large amount of cash should be carried without proper documents and the purpose of the amount.
Similar orders were also issued by District Administeration Mandi, Kullu, Lahaul Spiti, Chamba, Kinnaur in the 16 others Assembly segments falling in Mandi Parliamentary constituency and Kangra and Solan district Administration as bye election would be held in the Fatepur and Arki Assembly seat.
As per the notification issued by the Commission, the elections for these seats would be held on October 30th.
The filling of nomination papers will start on October 1st and will continue till October 8th.
The scrutiny of the nomination papers will be held on October 11th and the withdrawal of papers will be held on October 13th.
The polling will be held on October 30th and the counting of the votes will take place on November 2nd.
