Budget has failed to address unemployment, inflation and growing inequality
CITU state president Vijender Mehra and general secretary Prem Gautam have stated that the central budget has completely failed to address unemployment, inflation, the growing inequality between rich and poor, declining investment, and the shrinking economy. The budget has entirely failed to expand the economy, which will inevitably increase public suffering and unemployment in the future.
The budget is anti-labor, anti-employee, anti-farmer, and anti-common people. It grants concessions to capitalists. The demand for a minimum wage of ₹26,000 for workers has been ignored. The budget remains silent on the regularization of casual, temporary, contract, outsourced, multi-task, multi-purpose, fixed-term employees, and other informal employment. It also remains silent on the regularization of Anganwadi, ASHA, mid-day meal workers, and other scheme workers. The budget moves forward with implementing the four labor codes, which are anti-labor, under the guise of ease of doing business. This budget aims to weaken public sector undertakings and services, as well as schemes like MNREGA, and to implement the National Monetization Pipeline. Reducing food subsidies is extremely unfortunate.
This budget is nothing but a web of statistics. For workers, scheme workers, and all other employees, it offers nothing more than a token gesture. This budget is pro-capitalist, pro-multinational company, pro-international finance capital, and against workers.
