BJP’s three-member committee will reach Dharampur district Mandi on Dec 29 to investigate forest cutting
A large amount of forest has been cut illegally for felling in the village Bahri under Gram Panchayat Bahri of Dharmpur Assembly constituency of Mandi district. The Bharatiya Janata Party has constituted a three-member committee to collect the correct facts regarding this matter on 24 December 2024. According to the letter written by the BJP State President, this committee has to go to the spot and after getting all the information about the facts, submit its report to the Bharatiya Janata Party within 10 days. The party had made Satpal Singh Satti MLA, Sukhram Chaudhary MLA and Balveer Singh Verma MLA the chairman of this committee.
Committee Chairman Satpal Satti said that this committee will reach BJP Dharampur office on 29th December at 10 am, after that all the members of the committee will go to the spot and take stock of the entire situation. This is also a fact finding committee, so we request the public that if anyone wants to give any kind of proof related to this matter to the committee, they can do so, this committee will work to connect directly with the public. Satti said that it has been learnt that the trees that have been cut for Balan have not been duly permitted by the Forest Department. It has also been learnt that the wood cut for Balan also includes those trees whose cutting is prohibited. This issue was raised by the opposition during the recently concluded Vidhan Sabha session.
The committee will also address a press conference tomorrow at Dharampur District Mandi which will be organised in the afternoon.
