BJP’s economic mismanagement responsible for the Himachal’s economic plight: Congress

Chief Parliamentary Secretaries Sundar Lal Thakur and Ashish Butel have said that BJP’s economic mismanagement is responsible for plunging Himachal Pradesh into economic misery. He said that the state government had also brought a white paper in the Assembly on the abuses that took place during the tenure of the previous BJP government, in which the truth was put before the people of the state. The truth is that the former BJP government misused the government treasury extensively in the last year to win the elections. Both of them said that to win the elections, the previous government had created a maze against the Congress and wasted Rs 16,261 crore on Amrit Mahotsav, Progressive Himachal, Jan Manch and Foundation Day programs. The result was that Himachal had accumulated debt and liabilities of Rs 92,774 crore by the end of the financial year 2022-23. He said that it is because of the policies of the previous BJP government that today every Himachali is indebted to more than Rs 1 lakh.

Chief Parliamentary Secretaries said that the present state government under the leadership of Chief Minister Thakur Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu improved economic policies due to which the revenue of the state government increased by Rs 2200 crore. The state government collected additional revenue from the auction of liquor vends. Apart from this, the state government also controlled corruption and used public money for public welfare, due to which today many schemes are being run for the welfare of women, farmers, laborers and other sections. He said that the Chief Minister had laid the foundation of economic reforms in his very first budget and positive results of these efforts are being seen. In the coming times, Himachal Pradesh will be economically prosperous under the leadership of Thakur Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu.

Sunder Lal Thakur and Ashish Butel said that BJP leaders are experts in lying and are trying to mislead the people of the state by saying false things. He said that the people of Himachal Pradesh are educated and know very well how to differentiate between truth and falsehood.
