BJP to kick off drive to highlight Union Budget: Jairam
Leader of Opposition and former chief minister Jai Ram Thakur stated here today that party state unit would kick off a ten days special drive to highlight the union budget presented by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman in the parliament yesterday . Leader of Opposition stated this in a press conference held today that party would launch a drive to showcase merit of the union budget and various announcement made in the budget to common man. Party had constituted a team of three MLAs and a minister including the names of Vipin Singh Parmar, Dr. Rajeev Bindal, Randhir Sharma and former minister Govind Thakur. Former Assembly Speaker Vipin Singh Parmar has been made the coordinator of this team, while three others have been made co-convenors. BJP State President Suresh Kashyap has asked these leaders to work on the publicity of the budget from February 2 to 12. In this context, the party state president has also issued a letter to party workers to showcase eight points of union budget. Rebutting a statement made by Chief minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu accusing the previous BJP government for indulging in whooping borrowing Mr Thakur said that in short tenure of two months, Congress government has taken debt tune to Rs 1500 crore moreover it has closed down all new institutions opened by previous government. He defended his previous rule stating that despite Corona pandemic his government took less loan than the prescribed however Congress government has increased the borrowing limit up to 6 percent after amending FRBM Act. Hailing Union budget Mr Thakur said that it would benefit every class as it had been made keeping interest of every class in mind. Jairam said that the focus of this budget would strengthen ease of living and business. He said that in the budget Himachal would also get help for the construction of new airport at Nagchala and extension of Manali-Leh Railway line. He said that unions budget focus on adoption of drone technology for transportation. He also described the announcement of tax slabs in the budget as a matter of great relief for the employees.
