BJP releases first list of Shimla Municipal candidates, 16 women among contestants

Opposition BJP in the state today came out with a first list of 24 candidates including 16 women candidate party snatched away the ticket of sitting woman counselor Khimi Sood from Banmore and decided to put former CPM counselor Shelly Thakur in the open wards of Summerhill.

The decision to shortlist 24 candidates was taken in the BJP Election committee led by Union Information and broadcasting minister Anurag Thakur, state BJP Chief Suresh Kashyap, and Leader of Opposition Jai Ram Thakur here today.

Party decided to put Smt Saroj Thakur from Ruldubhata ward, Dr. Sapna Kashyap from Annadale, Shaili Thakur from Summerhill,  Mrs. Meenakshi Goyal from Totu, Mrs. Nirmala Chauhan from Majhyat, Mrs. Kiran Baba from Boileaganj, Mrs. Alka Kanwar from Khachighati.

 Mrs. Hema Kashyap from Nabha, Mr. Kalyan Dhiman from Fhagali, Mr. Bittu Pana from Krishnanagar, Mrs. Bharti Sood from Lower Bazar, Mr. Anoop Vaid from Banmore, Mrs. Satya Kaundal from Sanjuli choke Smt.  Kamlesh Mehta from Upper Dhali, Mrs. Seema Vijan from Lower Dhali.

Mr. Devender Sharma from Shantibihar Mr. Sushant Chauhan from Bhstakhufar, Mr. Kamal Thakur from Sangti, Mrs. Rachna Jheena Sharma from Kasumpti, Mr. Sanjeev Chauhan ( Pinku ) from Chhota Shimla, Mrs. Rama Kumari from Vikasnagar, Mrs. Renu Chauhan from Kangnadhar Mrs. Nisha Thakur from new Shimla, Mr. Purnamal from Khalini.

Now BJP is searching for 10 candidates left outwards for Election as nominations would be filled on April 13 17  and 28.
