BJP neglected Shimla district in four years: Congress
BJP came to power on the promise of ‘achche din'( good days) seemed forgotten the promise as it have neglect people of Shimla district in last four years.
This was stated by senior leader and Congress MLA from Naina Devi assembly constituency Mr Ramlal Thakur while addressing public meetings in favor of Congress candidate Rohit Thakur in the by-elections in Garli, Jhadashli, Jhagatan, Thana, Dhadi of Sharachali area of Jubbal Kotkhai Assembly constituency.
He said that during the tenure of BJP’s double engine government, inflation and unemployment have broken records.
Union Road and Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari had announced 69 National Highways in the state in the year 2015 before the 2017 assembly elections, including five National Highways of Jubbal, Navar and Kotkhai, which has proved to be a jumla(rhetoric) even after a lapse of six years.
He said that Jubbal- Kotkhai has led the state for a long time as people elected two chief minister for the power.
He said that Rohit Thakur who is Congress candidate for bye election is following the blessings and footsteps of two development men of the state, former Chief Minister Thakur Ramlal and former Chief MinisterVirbhadra Singh
Rohit Thakur is taking forward the stream of development in Jubbal, Navar Kotkhai area with the blessings of the people as he had elected two time earlier.
Rohit Thakur said during the tenure of the BJP government, district Shimla has been grossly neglected in every area.
“For the construction of roads, the state got ₹941 crore under CRF, in which only ₹8.37 crore was allocated to Shimla district, while ₹509 crore was allocated mainly to Dharampur and Siraj in Mandi district. ” he said.
Under the Jal Jeevan Mission, an amount of ₹ 938 crore was received by the state in the last two years, out of which Rs 444 crore was allotted to Dharampur and Siraj assembly constituencies, while in Shimla district only tenders worth Rs 16.5 crore could be floated.
Similarly, the state received Rs 770 crore under World Bank Phase 2, in which not a single road was laid in Shimla district, which shows the narrow mindset of the BJP.
Rohit Thakur said that due to the negative mindset of Jai Ram rule during the Corona period, many health institutions in Shimla district were closed.
District Shimla and Kinnaur have got disappointment in the name of Horticulture College due to BJP’s politics of regionalism.
Firstly, under the tenure of former Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal, the Horticulture College was opened at Neri in his assembly constituency under Nauni University and now the second college has been opened by Chief Minister Jairam in Thunag of his assembly constituency.
In the area of horticulture, 70% of the total production of the state is produced in the district Shimla and Kinnaur, yet BJP does not want to open the horticulture college in Shimla-Kinnaur district, which shows the politics of regionalism of BJP towards the gardeners.
He said that the by-election of Jubbal Navar Kotkhai would decide the condition and direction of Shimla district.
Rohit Thakur sought votes from the people of the area and urged the workers to reach house to house, ensure the victory of the Congress party.
