BJP is playing the role of opposition responsibly but the government has forgotten its responsibility: Jamwal

Countering the allegations leveled by Horticulture and Revenue Minister of Sukhu government Jagat Singh Negi on Prime Minister Narendra Modi and former Chief Minister Jairam Thakur in Himachal Pradesh, BJP’s Chief Spokesperson Rakesh Jamwal raised serious questions on the policies and working style of the Congress government. Jamwal said that the Congress government has failed in the development work of the state and is now making misleading statements to hide its failures. Jamwal quipped that, “In the opposition, there is work of ‘bailay baithe’, but the Sukhu government has kept its ministers ‘bailay baithe’ even after coming to power.” He said that the ministers of the Sukhu government are busy in “lunch diplomacy” in Shimla and Bilaspur, while the issues of the public are being ignored and overlooked. Jamwal claimed that the only purpose of this government is only to show off and make statements, not to work on real development.

Jamwal termed the Congress government’s claims of “fulfilling guarantees” as a bundle of lies. He said that most of the development works promised in Himachal Pradesh are incomplete. On one hand, the Congress government has falsely propagated opening of new institutions, while the truth is that it has closed more than 1,500 institutions in the state. Apart from this, more than 1,100 schools have been merged, more than 10,000 outsourced workers have been thrown out, and about 1.5 lakh posts have been abolished. Jamwal said that the Congress government has raised a new debt of Rs 25,000 crore within just 22 months, which is another proof of their mismanagement. He asked that when the government’s financial management itself has failed, what kind of “guarantees” is it claiming to fulfill? Jamwal termed Negi’s allegations on former Chief Minister Jairam Thakur as ridiculous and said that when the Jairam government had laid the foundation of development by opening new institutions in the state, it is not right to accuse it of burdening the state with debt. Whereas the truth is that the Sukhu government, as soon as it came to power, locked those institutions and obstructed development. Jamwal said that Jairam Thakur is a true well-wisher of Himachal Pradesh, who had given priority to the development of the state, while the Congress government is only busy misleading the public. Jamwal refuted the allegations leveled by the Horticulture Minister on Prime Minister Modi and said that the Congress leaders are only trying to tarnish the image of Prime Minister Modi. The truth is that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the country has firmly established its image at the global level. The central government has worked for every section of the country through several schemes. But the Sukhu government has been unable to deliver the benefits of these schemes to the public. Jamwal said that there is a big difference between the words and actions of the Congress government, and the people of Himachal have now understood the reality of this pretentious government. He said that the leaders of the Congress government are only adept at rhetoric and allegations, but have failed to implement the promises made for the development of the state and the welfare of the people. Their efforts to mislead the people of Himachal Pradesh will not work now. Jamwal concluded his statement by saying that in the coming times, the Congress will have to face the anger of the people. The people of Himachal will give a befitting reply to the failures of the Congress and will return to true development and progress.
