As you know, the Congress government has come to power in Himachal Pradesh last four months ago by giving false guarantees and misleading the public, and as soon as it comes, the public will be greatly affected by increasing the rates of diesel, petrol, edible oil, electricity, water, and garbage. A heavy burden has been put on the government, due to which within a span of four months people have lost their disillusionment towards the present government and people are feeling cheated.
In the assembly elections held in December, the Congress party had given 10 guarantees to the people of the state, will implement old pension in the first cabinet, will give Rs 1500 per month to every woman from January 1, 2023, will make 300 units of electricity free, five lakh youth Government jobs will be given to farmers, farmers will decide the price of fruits, cooking gas cylinders for Rs 400, start-up fund of Rs 680 crore for youth, free treatment in every village through mobile clinics, 4 English medium schools will be opened in every assembly. Will buy 10 liters of milk per day from cow-buffalo farmers at Rs. 80 and Rs. 100 per liter respectively and cow dung will be bought for Rs. 2 per kg. “Shimla and Himachal are asking where are these guarantees?”
Shimla Municipal Corporation was ruled by the people of India till June last year, some officials of Congress have tried to entangle the matter in the court by obstructing the election process, due to which the elections could not be held on time. Now the notification of election has been issued and soon Municipal Corporation Shimla will get elected corporation and the general public will get the opportunity to work through their public representatives.

Jairam Thakur while reading out the vision letter said that Shimla has been the capital of the country since the British period, and it has a different identity in the whole world. Once upon a time, the population of Shimla was 15-20 thousand, but with the passage of time, today the population of Shimla has become close to 2.50 lakhs. The need for an increasing population and modern facilities is the need of every city dweller. In the past, our party’s government has made a lot of efforts to make Shimla the ‘Queen of Hills’.
Our successful Prime Minister respected Narendra Modi had decided to build 100 ‘smart cities’ across the country, out of which Himachal Pradesh has received an amount of Rs.6500 crores for Shimla and Dharamshala, two smart cities. With the advent of Smart City, the face of Shimla City has changed and the maximum needs of the city dwellers have also been fulfilled. There has been a lot of improvement in the water system. Cleanliness and waste management have also been checked.
Now in these Municipal Corporation elections, we have come up with a visionary document that is multifaceted and provides convenience to the public. We assure you that after coming to power in Shimla Municipal Corporation, we will provide the following works and public facilities.
1. Water bill will not come up to 2000 liters per month.
2. Freedom from the trap of taxes to the residents of the city, will implement a “one corporation one tax” system. At present, will waive the garbage bills by up to 50%.
3. Will provide convenience to the public by making accessible toilets in every ward/locality.
4. Parking will be in every locality and vehicles will be properly parked.
5. According to the commitment of the government of our party, the poor Dhara owners will be given the right of “Jahan Dhara, Wahi Makan” to the poor Dhara owners built on the land for 2 biswa.
6. Municipal Corporation will have the right to remove dangerous trees in a time-bound manner.
7. Our government has given convenience to lakhs of people by taking the decision to install electricity meters without NOC, on the same basis, there will be no NOC for water meters.
8. Will end the disparities in fees for the license of shops and the system of one shop one unit will be implemented and there will be only one license.
9. Will launch a public movement against de-addiction and will also make the people of Shimla aware.
10. ‘Open gym’ will be set up in every locality of every ward, so that every section of society will be made healthy and strong.
11. All municipal corporation areas will be brought under CCTV cameras so that crimes will be monitored and criminals will be caught and brought under the clutches of the law.
12. A task force will be formed to remove the problems faced by the public due to the increasing cases of stray dogs and monkeys and their aggression, which will change the present system and take concrete measures. Will involve NGOs and other social organizations.
13. Shimla Municipal Corporation will try to build night shelters and labor hostels by selecting more places in the area, so that daily wage earners, laborers and self-employed people can get shelter.
14. Marriage palaces (marriage houses) will be constructed at various places in Shimla city, in which all kinds of facilities will be available.
15. Will promote the solar system and install solar panels on as many roofs as possible on the basis of subsidy.
16. According to the plan of the BJP government, the vegetable market to be built in the garden of Dadni – will speed up the work of the grain market and complete it soon.
17. Drainage system will be arranged in all the wards so that dirty water does not seep into public places.
18. Shimla Municipal Corporation will form a committee of senior citizens and intellectuals under the chairmanship of the mayor, who will have the authority to act on their suggestions and the government will be bound to supply funds for development works.
19. Will make concrete efforts to implement Central Government’s 1546 crore multi-dimensional scheme ‘Pavartamala Yojana’, which will greatly benefit local citizens and tourists.
20. Ambulance roads will be made to all the villages situated at the extreme end of Shimla city ie every village.
21. Shimla Corporation will activate all the ‘fire deterrents’ in the area so that any fire incident that may happen at any time can be controlled quickly.
Jairam said our motto: Clean Shimla, Green Shimla, Environmentally friendly Shimla, Drug-free Shimla. Due to the untiring efforts of the then Chief Minister Jairam Thakur and Urban Development Minister Suresh Bhardwaj, the following historical works have been done.
1. Smart City Project (6500 crores) is the gift of the central government of the Bharatiya Janata Party.
2. All the narrow roads of Shimla city were widened and improved, the roads have been widened without causing any harm to anyone in the road widening work, due to which the traffic system has improved and the traffic system has also improved. This work has been made possible by our government for the first time after the British era. For the first time after independence, the Bharatiya Janata Party government brought the Shimla Development Plan for the citizens of Shimla and benefited thousands of residents.
3. Footpaths have been constructed along the roads all over Shimla to ensure the safety of road users.
4. The work of the 1813 crore water scheme has been started, due to which pure water will be available to the citizens of Shimla 24*7.
5. The construction work of Dhalli’s second tunnel has been completed in record time at a cost of Rs 54 crore. This tunnel is the first tunnel of Shimla after the British period.
6. Our government has built 7 bridges, due to which safe movement has been ensured.
7. Construction work of 4 lifts has been done in Shimla city.
8. Construction of two escalators is in progress.
9. Aajeevika Bhawan has been constructed near the lift with an amount of 12 crores, in which the Tibetan Market has been shifted and the Tibetan Market, which was in danger due to land sliding for a long time, has also ended and the movement of the general public has become easier. Is.
10. Smart shops have been constructed in Lower Bazar, Ram Bazar, and Sabzi Mandi in the Municipal Corporation area and 100 stalls have been made and sold in Vikas Nagar, due to which the traders are very happy.
11. Four book cafes have been set up in Shimla, the benefits of which are being given to all the readers.
12. Open gyms have been opened and more gyms will be opened.
13. Two subways have been constructed, due to which the citizens have been facilitated to move without any hindrance.
14. Rajhana Bypass, which is connected to Shoghi Dhali Road, will reduce the travel time people and also save fuel.
15. Big and small parks have been built. Grandparents’ parks have also been made. More model parks will be made in the future.
16. During the year 2018 water crisis, water was made available to the people of Shimla. From Chabha to Gumma, Gumma to Shimla, the people of Shimla got 10 ml water daily at a cost of 70 crores. The project was completed in record time.
17. Our BJP government constructed an all-weather road from Sanjauli to Indira Gandhi Medical College and an all-weather road leading to Jakhu temple, which benefited the devotees and tourists.
18. Garbage bills worth Rs 4 crore have been waived during the Covid period.
