BJP is not pressing the issue of Dy CM in the writ petition before the Himachal High Court
Member of assembly of the Opposition BJP today did not press on the issue of Deputy Chief Minister before the Division bench of Himachal High Court as the party has challenged the appointment of six chief parliamentary secretaries and appointment of Dy CM by the Congress government in the state.
The DB of Justice Vivek Singh Thakur and Justice Sandeep Sharma today deferred the hearing in the matter of CPS till January 2 giving the last opportunity for the state to present the argument on behalf of the state.
The counsel for Satpal Singh Sati and the other six petitioners Satpal Jain did not press on the issue challenging the appointment of Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri. According to the petitioner, the party changed its stance before the court in the wake of the appointment of a Deputy CM in BJP-ruled states like Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh.
Before the HC petitioner and CPS Sunder Singh Thakur already presented their argument to the petitioners however court decided to fix the hearing in the matter after the Vidhan Sabha proceeding on the request of the state.
Seven BJP MLAs have moved in the Himachal Pradesh high court in March 2023 challenging the appointment of CPS and Dy CM by the Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu challenging the appointment unconstitutional.
