BJP government at the Center is hell-bent on weakening MNREGA : Pratibha

State Congress President MP Pratibha Singh has assured INTUC that she will place their demands before the government herself. She said that INTUC is a very important leading organization of Congress which is always dedicated towards the welfare of workers and labourers.

Today, while attending the 107th state level executive meeting of the National Labor Congress, INTUC at State Congress Headquarters Rajiv Bhavan as the chief guest, Pratibha Singh said that the Congress has always given top priority to the welfare of common and poor people, workers and laborers. It is and will continue to do so. She said that MNREGA was a multi-pronged scheme of the Congress in this direction, which the present BJP government at the Center is hell-bent on weakening. He said that the Congress stands with the people against this injustice.

Earlier, Sanjay Dutt, Secretary, All India Congress Committee and co-incharge of state affairs, while appreciating state INTUC President Bawa Hardeep Singh, said that INTUC is moving forward very strongly in the state under his leadership. He said that former Chief Minister Late. Virbhadra Singh made his remarkable contribution in strengthening the organization by giving full respect to INTUC in the state. He said that he hopes that the present government will also give full importance to it. He said that the demand letter which he has given to him will be given to Rajiv Shukla, member of the All India Congress Working Committee, in-charge of state affairs. He assured INTUC that their demands would be met.

Sanjay Dutt said that the Lok Sabha elections are going to be held in the country next year, so there is a huge responsibility on his shoulders. He said that just as INTUC with its solidarity worked for the victory of the Congress in the State Assembly elections, they will have to do the same in the Lok Sabha elections also. He said that to remove the politics of fear and hatred in the country and to save democracy, it is very important to oust BJP from power, for this everyone will have to work unitedly.

Presenting all the demands of INTUC, State President of INTUC, Bawa Hardeep Singh said that the registration of MNREGA laborers has been stopped under the Shram Kamgar Board, which should be restored immediately.

In the meeting Jagat Ram Sharma, Sita Ram Saini, Umesh Sharma, Sohan Verma, Roop Singh, YP Kapoor, Jagtar Singh, Rahul Mahera, Purna Chand, Jaswinder, Khimi Ram Chauhan, Shyam Thakur, Prem Lal Bhatia, Sohan Verma, DD Kaushal Apart from Jitendra Gupta, Narendra Chandel, Chuni Lal Garg, hundreds of workers from all over the state were present.
