BJP did not contribute to the development of Shimla City: Rohit Thakur
Rohit Thakur, countering the statement of former minister Sukhram Chaudhary, said that the former BJP government did not make any special contribution to the development of Shimla city, rather the problems of the people living in Shimla Municipal Corporation increased during their tenure. . He said that the people of Shimla have not yet forgotten how people had to stand in long queues for water. They were forced to drink dirty water, due to which hundreds of people in the city became victims of diseases like jaundice and some people also died tragically. He said that today Shimla city has become a city of cement dynasties and big iron structures and it is like a bad stain on the natural beauty of Shimla. The problem of expensive water and garbage in Shimla city is also the fault of the BJP government. He said that BJP should apologize to the people of Shimla city for all this.
Rohit Thakur said that soon after the formation of the Congress government under the leadership of Chief Minister Thakur Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu, several effective steps have been taken in the direction of system change. The government has increased the height of attics in Shimla as well as Mandi, Palampur and Solan Municipal Corporation areas to 3.05 meters and made attics livable, which will benefit thousands of families. He said that the BJP government also remained in power for five years, but failed to take any public-friendly decision and encouraged extravagance. He said that Chief Minister Thakur Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu is going to take several steps to solve the problems of the people of Shimla town in coming times. He said that the conscious voters of Shimla will vote for the progressive thinking of the Congress in the upcoming Municipal Corporation Shimla elections and will teach a lesson to the BJP for their actions.
