BJP Accused of Misleading the Nation and Suppressing Democratic Voices: Naresh Chauhan
Chief Minister’s Principal Advisor (Media), Naresh Chauhan, has strongly criticized the BJP for filing a false FIR against Rahul Gandhi, Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha and a senior leader of the Indian National Congress, during a protest in Delhi. In a statement to the press today, Chauhan condemned the BJP’s actions in harsh terms, alleging that the party disrupted discussions on issues concerning Dr. B.R. Ambedkar to avoid addressing the core issues. He accused the BJP of showcasing an anti-Dalit mindset and misleading the public to divert attention from real problems while unjustly targeting the Congress over alleged incidents in Parliament.
Chauhan highlighted that Dr. B.R. Ambedkar was a great and respected leader of the nation. He strongly criticized Home Minister Amit Shah for making objectionable and derogatory remarks against Ambedkar in Parliament, calling it an outright insult to both Ambedkar and the Indian Constitution. He further stated that preventing Rahul Gandhi from expressing his views in the Lok Sabha is a blatant violation of democratic principles, which is unacceptable.
BJP’s Attempts to Defame Congress
Naresh Chauhan accused the BJP of creating a dramatic spectacle in Parliament to tarnish the country’s image. He alleged that BJP MPs created chaos, targeted Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, and even physically pushed Congress MPs. Instead of taking responsibility for its actions, the BJP is trying to hide its mistakes and malign the Congress party. Chauhan claimed that Congress MPs were peacefully trying to raise their concerns in Parliament but were forcibly silenced. He remarked that BJP’s authoritarian behavior in suppressing the voices of Congress MPs is both shameful and unfortunate for the nation.
Ignoring National Issues
Chauhan also highlighted the pressing issues of inflation and unemployment, along with the deteriorating situation in Manipur. He expressed shock that, instead of addressing these critical problems, the BJP-led central government is allegedly using diversion tactics to avoid discussions in Parliament. According to him, preventing Congress MPs from entering Parliament under a premeditated conspiracy and spreading false narratives in the media to defame the Congress party reflects poorly on the ruling party’s intentions.
The Congress leader concluded by asserting that such actions undermine democratic values and are detrimental to the nation’s progress, calling on the BJP to focus on addressing the real issues facing the country rather than engaging in smear campaigns against the opposition.
