Bindal’s big attack on Congress regarding Municipal Council Nahan
State President of Bharatiya Janata Party, Dr. Rajeev Bindal said that the Congress Party has reached complete mental bankruptcy.
Discussing the incident of Municipal Council Nahan, Dr. Bindal said that the Municipal Council is a council elected under a purely independent working democratic system, which runs the affairs of the municipality and is independent in making its decisions, but the incident of Nahan The Congress Party has kept Nahan Municipal Council under constant pressure since coming to power, due to which the development work of the city is continuously getting disrupted. As soon as Congress came to power, on the instructions of the local MLA, the grant received by the council was reduced and half of the amount received from the state government was taken back. Development works were stopped by threatening city council officials and employees.
Due to the wrong interference of the Congress Party, Nahan Municipal Council which stood first in the cleanliness survey in Himachal Pradesh has now reached the last place because the Congress leaders are promoting officers and employees only for nepotism.
Many parking lots were being constructed by Nahan Municipal Council and adequate funds were being given for these works during the previous BJP government, but as soon as Congress came to power, the funds for development works were destroyed. A two-story parking and a three-story building was being built on top of the concrete tank Nahan. When the work of two-storey parking was almost completed, the amount of Rs 2.5 crore which was to come from the state government for the construction of the upper building was stopped. Since the Congress government of the state stopped giving further money for the construction of this building, the council decided that this two-story parking should be tendered for rent, and on February 21, the Municipal Council Chairperson along with the councilors formally inaugurated the parking. It was done because the tender process for rent is to be completed on 29th February. It is a matter of regret that on the orders of the local MLA, Congress leaders uprooted the inauguration plaque of the parking lot and put pressure on the executive officer that the MLA himself would inaugurate it on 25th February. Let it be known that this is being done only to break and harass the BJP-supported Municipal Council. The intention behind this is clear that Congress’s Municipal Council should be fraudulently formed in Nahan whereas only 4 out of 13 councilors belong to the Congress Party.
Dr. Bindal said that the government should immediately provide funds for the development works of the Municipal Council.
The parking lot has been inaugurated by the chairperson of the council. Legal action should be taken against those who broke the plaque and the plaque should be reinstalled in its original place.
Under any circumstances, reopening of the inaugurated parking will not be acceptable to the public. This would be undemocratic, dictatorial, and against the sentiments and rights of the democratically elected council.
Dr. Bindal said that not even a single penny has been given by the present Congress government or the local MLA for the construction of the parking lot and if it has to be inaugurated, then funds should be made available for the development works, the work should be done and the inauguration should be done.
Dr. Bindal said that Congress leaders have made a record of breaking the foundation stones and inauguration plaques of hundreds of development works done during the previous BJP government and now they are trying to take false credit by installing their own plaques in their place.
