Ashadeep conducted a tree planting event in Solah Mile area of Shimla
Today, the Ashadeep NGO conducted a tree planting event in the Solah Mile area of Shimla. Local youths from the area contributed significantly to the event. The forests here suffered extensive damage due to severe fires in the summer. The coordinator of the reforestation program, Manju Negi, stated that to preserve the greenery of the area, tree planting will be conducted twice a year, and the planted trees will be taken care of. The program was inaugurated by renowned social worker Shri Raj Dorje Negi from Dhami, who planted a tree and praised the participants, assuring them of his full support in any future environmental conservation efforts.
Ashadeep coordinator Sushil Tanwar emphasized planting local species instead of pine trees, as this would not only reduce forest fires but also help raise the water table level. This would also meet the fodder needs of livestock owners. The tree planting was carried out under the guidance of forest department officer Shri Rajeev Sharma, who provided the saplings. Program coordinator Manju Negi expressed gratitude for this assistance. Volunteers Rahul, Nishant, Manisha Negi, Chandan Sharma, Atul Sharma, Akash Thakur, Himanshu Sharma, Raj Negi, and Manju Negi planted fifty Bauhinia, twenty Deodar, and thirty Oak saplings.
