Anurag condemns the decision of the Himachal government to discontinue Himcare card in private hospitals
Former Union Minister and Hamirpur Lok Sabha MP Shri Anurag Singh Thakur has described the decision of the Congress government of Himachal to discontinue the Himcare card in private hospitals of the state as snatching the support of the people by the arrogant Congress.
Shri Anurag Thakur said, “The present Congress government in Himachal is a failed and arrogant government. This 19-month-old government has no achievements of its own and by blocking the good work of the BJP, the Congress is playing with the interests of the people. In 2019, during its tenure, the BJP had started the Himcare scheme to provide cashless treatment to those who were left out of the Ayushman Bharat scheme in Himachal, which was benefiting lakhs of people in the state. Good treatment was not available in government hospitals The facility of getting treatment in private hospitals if one can afford it was a boon for the people but the Congress government in Himachal Pradesh has taken a tyrannical decision to shut down the Himcare scheme which was the support of the people for private hospitals. This means that Himcare card holders will now have to pay Rs. 10000/-. He will not be able to get treatment in private hospitals. The arrogant Congress has taken away the support of the people of the state, which cannot be condemned enough.”
Speaking further, Mr. Anurag Thakur said, “Today, under the rule of the Congress government, medical services in the state are going through a bad phase. The condition of government hospitals is bad where patients are facing a lot of inconvenience for facilities like dialysis. In such a situation, the patients who used to turn to private hospitals after getting fed up with the government system, now the Congress government has dealt a blow to that as well. People in Devbhoomi who were unable to get treatment in government hospitals due to some reason, can avail the Himcare scheme by going to a private hospital. Under this, cashless treatment up to Rs 5 lakh was being provided. Himcare card was used in 141 private health institutions in Himachal and outside Himachal. The number of government and private hospitals is 292, where this Himcare card facility was being provided. But due to its economic mismanagement, Congress sacrificed another public welfare scheme of BJP.
Shri Anurag Thakur said, “Whenever Congress comes to power in Himachal Pradesh, development work comes to a halt and encroachment starts increasing. As soon as Congress government was formed in the state, it started imposing a lock on development work out of ill-will. Congress has done a lot of work. In just 1.5 years, Congress took a loan of 25000 crores and increased the debt burden of the state to 95000 crores. Congress did not give anything to the state but the health institutions, education centers, government schools running here, the children should get the benefits. Whether it was the uniforms or the facilities given to the workers, they stopped everything. Congress should tell what is the fault of the public.
