Under the leadership of Dr. (Prof.) V.S. Negi, Executive Director of AIIMS Bilaspur, the Department of Physiology has introduced a Lifestyle Management Clinic. This clinic, inaugurated by Medical Superintendent Dr. (Prof.) Dinesh Verma, is designed to combat the rising cases of lifestyle-related disorders, including hypertension, Type-II diabetes, metabolic syndrome, cardiovascular issues, obesity, sleep disorders, and mental health problems. The clinic aims to deliver a holistic approach to health by offering personalized and evidence-based lifestyle interventions for the prevention and management of these conditions. The clinic will operate on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday in OPD Block ‘B’, 4th Floor, Room No. 729.
The clinic will provide comprehensive nutritional services, including personalized diet plans and dietary education tailored to each patient’s unique needs. Additionally, it will offer guidance on physical activity, covering different types of exercises, general exercise guidelines, and practical dos and don’ts to enhance overall health. The clinic will also address sleep disorders, offering strategies to improve sleep quality through proper sleep hygiene, relaxation techniques, and mindfulness for effective stress management. Furthermore, patients will be educated on the benefits of regular yoga and meditation sessions for promoting mental health, enhancing physical well-being, and improving stress resilience. The clinic will also provide advice on the harmful effects of substance abuse and the health advantages of social interactions. Looking forward, the clinic plans to expand its services to include biofeedback and neurofeedback, equipping patients with advanced tools to better understand their physiological responses and enhance their ability to manage lifestyle-related disorders.
