Agriculture officers trained on general and foreign vegetables farming
A three-day training programme on “Methods of general and foreign vegetables cultivation” was organized at Farmers Training Center Sundarnagar. Agricultural transmission officers and assistant agriculture development officers from District Chamba, Mandi, Kangra, Hamirpur, Bilaspur, Una, Sirmaur participated in this program.
During the training Principal, Farmers Training Center Sundarnagar Dr. Prachi gave detailed information about methods of farming on general and foreign vegetables. On the first day of training, Training Coordinator Dr. Sudhir gave information about the importance, scope and problems of vegetable production. Dr. Hitender Singh highlights aspects of vegetable plant production and nursery management. The training provided detailed insight on the latest vegetable production technologies such as precise farming, vegetable grafting, preserved farming, hydroponics, aeroponics and efficient water management techniques in vegetable production. Second day of training officers informed about general vegetable crop farming, foreign vegetable crop farming. Last day of training, Dr. in charge of Agriculture Science Center Pankaj Sood gave detailed information on disease management and insects management in vegetable crops. The final session of the training was briefed on integrated nutrient management and crop management, vegetable processing and price hike in vegetable production.
Along with that during the program, all the officers were also made to visit farmers’ fields in Lohara Panchayat.
