After 45 years, Shanda Yagya was completed in Dev Junga Manuni temple of Thund
After 45 years, Shanda Yagya was completed yesterday in the ancient temple of Thund, the 22nd Tika place of Dev Junga Manuni. In which thousands of Kalyans and devotees received the blessings of Dev Junga Manuni and other deities in Shand Yagya. General Secretary of the Temple Committee, Ram Gopal Thakur said that in this Shand Yagya, apart from the then King of Keonthal State and the fourth Ishta Raja Khush Vikram Sen and Queen Mother Vijay Jyoti Sen, the trident of Mata Tara Devi, Hanuman from Khushhala along with Chowki, four deities Kaneti Dhar, deity Ghanena, deity Junga Bhanog, deity Dhanchand and the Kardars of 24 Devathis also participated. He told that after the renovation of this temple, Shanda Yagya was organized after 45 years. It should be noted that in the Keonthal state, the king’s place is considered above the gods, due to which the Keonthal king is worshiped as the fourth favorite among the people. On this occasion, the fourth Ishta and Raja Khush Vikram Sen announced the relaxation of the old traditions related to gods in the Keonthal state by reforming them. In which, in case of any kind of impurity in the house, the old nine days were reduced to five days, that is, in case of any impurity in the house like menstruation etc., the 9 days abstinence from going to the temple was reduced to five days. Apart from this, since time immemorial neither milk was used in the Bhandara of Devkarya nor could one sit on a chair during this period. The king also gave permission to use milk in the store of worship and to sit on a chair.
On this occasion, Rajmata Vijay Jyoti Sen advised all the priests of the 22 Tika deities of Dev Junga, the Gurus and Kardars of the deity to maintain the ancient tradition of the deity. He said that in the entire Keonthal region, people consider Dev Junga as their family member, but with the changing times, ancient traditions have also come to the verge of extinction. The people of the region have now started believing in the gods of other regions instead of their own gods, due to which it seems that our god traditions are beginning to disappear. He said that separate committees of 22 Tika temples of Dev Junga in Kyothal have been formed at their own levels. He said that it will be considered to form a single big committee of 22 Tika temples and this committee will keep an eye on the executive of 22 Tika temples of Dev Junga and will also provide guidance related to Dev work from time to time.
On this occasion, Dev Junga Manuni Committee President Krishna Dutt Thakur, Treasurer Jai Singh Thakur, Deva Narendra Sharma, Narayan Dutt Bhandari, Sanjay Kumar Bahidar and other officials were present.
