Acute shortage of potable water after 75 yrs of Independence 

The Government and its agencies could not give respite to the people to fulfiltheir basic requirement of  portable water after 75 yrs of Independence as acute shortage prevalentin many villages due to laxity of authority to built new schemes and expand the capacity of existing scheme.
This was stated by Dr Kuldeep Singh president of Himachal Pradesh Kissan Sabha while presenting a memorandum to Executive Engineer of IPH Sunni in Rural Shimla..Dr Tanwar said that Manju Gram Panchayat of Sunni Tehsil in Shimla rural people are getting supply of ten to 12 thousand litres of water daily compared to daily need of 90,000 to One lakh litre. 
He said that State Government is lifting around 250 lakh litere of water every day to Shimla town-however its outskirts are facing acute short supply of portable water for domestic and need of cattle. A delgationlead by Dr Tanwar and Gram Panchayat Pardhan Ms Renu along with member of Zila Parishad and BDCmet with Executive Engineer Sunni today.
Xen assure the delegation that water supply scheme should be repair to end the short supply in the summer season. The officers accepting the demands of Kissan Sabha said that he would vist the affected area on Feb 18 and ordered to replace the of machinery of  water supply scheme
The officer also informed the delegation that a new water supply scheme is proposed  in the affectedpanchayat to be set up on Sairkhud to met the rest of demands in the future. He also said that a DPR would be sent to centre government to set up a megga water supply scheme in the Rural Shimla .
Dr Tanwar demanded to early resolving the shortage of water scheme as the farmers required more water to complete their day to day demands and cattle moreover he said that people of panchayat mainly rely upon the livelihood of agriculture should be provided the more water and irrigation facility.
