Accelerate Development and Welfare Initiatives: Agriculture Minister Chandra Kumar
Agriculture and Animal Husbandry Minister, Prof. Chandra Kumar, chaired a review meeting with departmental heads to assess the progress of various developmental projects and welfare schemes. During the meeting, the Minister emphasized the need to expedite the implementation of government initiatives to ensure timely benefits for the public.
He directed officials from the Public Works Department to closely monitor contractor activities and ensure the efficient utilization of allocated funds. The Minister also stressed the need to accelerate road construction under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY). Highlighting a major development, he announced that ₹5 crore has been approved for the construction of a day-boarding school, with 50 kanals of land already transferred to the Education Department.
Healthcare and Infrastructure Improvements
The Agriculture Minister instructed health department officials to maintain better hygiene at the Jawali Civil Hospital and complete the construction of an additional 50-bed block within record time. He shared that approximately ₹1 crore has been allocated for the retrofitting and renovation of the hospital.
Water Supply and Irrigation
The Minister urged the Water Power Department to prioritize repairing damaged infrastructure and maintain existing drinking water and irrigation schemes efficiently.
Revenue and Rural Development
Prof. Chandra Kumar advised Revenue Department officials to expedite the resolution of pending cases and adopt a mission-mode approach to reduce unnecessary public visits to offices. He also urged the Rural Development Department to complete village development projects within stipulated deadlines, ensuring no delays.
Agriculture and Horticulture Focus
The Minister highlighted the state government’s efforts to boost rural prosperity through various agriculture and horticulture schemes. He encouraged officials to visit farmers’ fields, understand their challenges, and provide them with proper guidance. He reiterated the government’s commitment to reaching the last person in society with developmental benefits through flagship programs and welfare policies.

Following the meeting, the Minister addressed grievances of local residents and directed concerned officials to resolve their issues promptly.
