AAP demands compensation for the damage caused by the hailstorm, Along with apple crop, other crops also get support price
The Aam Aadmi Party has expressed deep concern towards the farmers facing the wrath of the weather in Himachal Pradesh. Aam Aadmi Party’s state spokesperson Gaurav Sharma has demanded compensation for the damage caused by the hailstorm. He said that due to heavy hailstorm, the crops in the fields have been completely destroyed, due to which the concern of the farmers has increased. On the one hand, where their crops have been damaged due to the crisis of drought due to lack of rain for about two months, now on the other hand the farmers and gardeners have suffered heavy losses due to the sudden heavy hailstorm.
In such a situation, the Aam Aadmi Party has demanded from the state government that after assessing the damage caused by heavy hailstorm, farmers and gardeners should be compensated on the lines of Delhi. The party’s state spokesperson said that no district has been left untouched by the heavy hailstorm where the hailstorm has not wreaked havoc. While cherries have been damaged, the farmers of lower and central areas including Kangra, Mandi, Una, Hamirpur, Bilaspur, Solan, Kullu, Sirmaur, Kinnaur districts have also suffered heavy losses. Wheat, barley, peas, tomatoes and other crops grown in their fields have also been damaged.
Gaurav Sharma said that farmers and gardeners should be given minimum support price as per market price for main crop apple and other crops like tomato, ginger, peas like other states. He said that on one hand lakhs of rupees have been lost due to unseasonal snowfall already in winter, but now once again unseasonal rain and hailstorm have ruined the main source of income of farmers and crops grown in the field. In such a situation, the Aam Aadmi Party demands from the state government that at the earliest, after assessing the crops of the affected farmers and gardeners, compensation should be given. So that farmers do not have to face financial crisis.
