A delegation of HGVS met the Education Minister regarding the problem of drug addiction
A delegation of Himachal Gyan Vigyan Samiti met Education Minister Rohit Thakur and informed him about the campaign launched by Himachal Gyan Vigyan Samiti against drug abuse. The delegation included Himachal Gyan Vigyan Samiti’s State President Dr. Om Prakash Bhureta, Vice President Gianand Sharma, Secretary Satyawan Pundir and Town Committee President Govind Chataranta.
Satyawan Pundir said that Himachal Gyan Vigyan Samiti shared the points of the proposal to run a campaign against drug abuse. The Education Minister assured that he will soon arrange a meeting of the committee workers with the Chief Minister on this subject.
It is worth noting that recently the Education Minister had come to the program of the State Knowledge Science Center organized in Shimla. At that time he had expressed the government’s commitment to uproot drug addiction from the state and had assured the committee members that he would discuss with the Chief Minister to run a coordinated campaign against drug addiction.
The delegation also handed over the documents of the future action plan prepared on the suggestions of the departments and institutions in the stakeholder convention to the minister. Satyawan Pundir told that the delegation also met the Chief Minister’s Secretary Rakesh Kanwar and requested him to take time for a meeting with the Chief Minister.
