84 thousand planting material of carnations distributed to 150 farmers of the Sirmaur and Kangra districts

Under Mission-II, Solan, Shimla, Mandi, Hamirpur, Bilaspur, Himachal Pradesh 84 thousand planting material of carnations to 150 farmers of Sirmaur and Kangra districts.
Made distribution. A two-day training program was also organized. CSIR-Floriculture Mission is a nationwide program involving institutions in five states. It promotes flower cultivation. In the last two and a half years, the institute has worked in various states of the country.
The 750-hectare area has been included under flower cultivation from which 2,500 farmers Have benefited. Farmers get a lot of encouragement from this mission after the COVID epidemic has been found. Under this mission, various flowers like carnation, chrysanthemum, Lilium, rose, Improved plants of Gerbera, Marigold, Gypsophila, Limonium, Gladiolus, Rajnigandha, etc.
The material is being made available to the farmers.
Dr. Sudesh Kumar Yadav, Director CSIR-IHBT said on the occasion that Quality planting material and training programs are provided to farmers under the mission. It will prove helpful in increasing the income.
Dr. Bhavya Bhargava, Mission Nodal Officer, CSIR-IHBT said that in three years, the institute has covered 500 hectares of area in five states with quality plantations. Will provide the material.
