77 students of Mandi district test positive for coronavirus in Himachal
Along with three staff members as many as 77 students belonged to a private school of Dharmpur of Mandi district contracted to novel Corona Virus on Tuesday. Confirming the outbreak SDM Sarkaghat Rahul Jain said that 77 pupils of Vijay Model School of Dharmpur Kaswa in Mandi district tested positive along with three staff member.
All of them were put in isolation and school have been declared containment zone. Four of the victims belonged to calls 9th to 12 th standard complaint of cough and could symptoms who were taken to hospital for treatment as their RTPCR test report confirmed positive for nCoV all others class students were also checked and 36 of them found positive along with staff members.
SDM said that he himself is looking after the situation and all the victims were reported out of danger and stable so far. The boarding schools have as many as130 students who are not allowed to go out of school as the risk of spreading the covid is low inside the school. The infection seems to be spread from the staff members who keep on going to the market and outside the schools.
State Government have already decided to keep all day schools close till Sep 25 this month but with new cases in the boarding schools creating sense of uneasiness among the students and parents and uncertainty prevailed in the public over keeping schools closed for long time.
Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur have seek the detail report of spreading of Covid among the student at this juncture when state government was planning to open the schools in the state. It is not the solitary incidents of outbreak of covid among the students similarly it contracted to other students in the district and state to number of student.
Uncertainty also loom over the opening of schools as Union Government could not announced any immunization or vaccine program for students below 18 yrs old in the state so far.
