700 schools to be merged and vacant teaching positions to be filled: Rohit

In a significant move to improve the quality of education, the Himachal Pradesh government is prioritizing the filling of vacant teaching positions in government schools. The focus is on ensuring that every school has adequate teaching staff to provide quality education to students.

Here are the key points:

  1. Vacant Posts: Approximately 700 schools in the state have fewer than five students enrolled. These schools face challenges due to the lack of teachers. The government aims to address this issue by merging such schools and filling vacant posts.
  2. Phase-wise Approach: The government will implement the merger process in phases. Initially, schools with no teachers at all will be the priority. New teachers will be appointed to these schools to ensure that students receive proper guidance.
  3. Optimizing Teacher Deployment: After addressing schools without any teachers, the focus will shift to schools with only one teacher. Additional teachers will be assigned to these schools to improve the student-teacher ratio.
  4. Ground-Level Implementation: The state government has already initiated the process by collecting reports from the field. This step ensures that the intentions to enhance education quality translate into practical actions.

By filling vacant teaching positions and optimizing teacher deployment, Himachal Pradesh aims to create a conducive learning environment for its students. The commitment to quality education remains at the forefront of these efforts.
