440 Himachal pupils rescued from War torn Ukraine, Nine to evacuate
As many as 440 pupils of Himachal who were stranded in war-torn Ukraine and nine others still to evacuate who are make shifted to safer places in bordering nations, this was stated by the Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur while making a suo-moto statement in the assembly on Wednesday. On the 12 day of the budget session, Thakur again made a statement in the house stating that 441 students evacuated after the Russia-Ukraine through special flights by the Indian Government. Mr Thakur said that 8 students who had reached the neighboring nation decided to not return to India, still staying at these locations.
Currently nine pupils who are still stranded include seven in Poland and Slovakia and two in Sumy are being evacuated to safer locations on the western borders of Ukraine, Mr Thakur added. He assured that left out would be brought back to India by special flights. The Chief Minister said that the Indian government maintains regular contact with the Ukraine and Russia Government for safe passage to Indian nationals from war conflict nation. The Ministry of External Affairs ensured the safe return of all residents of the state from Ukraine, he added.
