4347 livestock die, 81843 affect with Lympy Skin Disease in Himachal
Himachal Pradesh Government today accepted that around toll of live stock went upto 4347 by Lympy Skin Disease (LSD) in the state and 81843 affected cattle epidemic so far. State Disaster management authority Secretary Sudesh Kumar Mokhta informed in a bulletin here today that nine district are most affected by the outbreak including Solan , Sirmour , Shimla , Una , Kangra , Bilaspur , Mandi Mandi , Hamirpur & Chamba. About 214 animal were died today and 1824 new cases were traced on Monday. He said that after declaring the outbreak epidemic about 217170 animals were vaccinated. Against the requirements of 265350 vaccines state have availability of 106300 doses. 38906 animals were recovered from LSD till date and it is active in 38590 animal. Dr Arun Sirkeck Deputy Director Epidemiology was made nodal officer of LSD in the state.
