4100 families of Rangrik to get round the year power supply
With the Commissioning of 2 mega watt Solar Power Plant in Rangrik village of Spiti subdivision of Lahaul-Spiti district about 4100 families would get round the year power supply. The SDM Kaza Gunjit Singh Cheema who inaugurated 2 mw Solar plant to be jointly built by jointly of Himachal Pradesh State Electricity Board Limited and SECI complany said on Thursday. Spokesperson of district administration said that estimated cost of this power plant would be around 20 crores. Along with this, there will also be a battery back up of 1 MW hour. The electricity generated from here would be connected to the grid. The work of this plant would be completed by October 2022. The plant will have 3700 modules. SDM Gunjit Singh Cheema claimed that the problem of electricity would be solved with the installation of this solar power plant. The problem of power supply in Spiti valley will soon be solved by the installation of this solar plant. People would be able to get better and continuous electricity supply during winters. There are about 4100 electricity connections in Spiti Valley. About 1.8 MW is required in Spiti. At the same time, the solar power plant will supply 2 MW of electricity.
