4 days of Orange & Yellow alert in Himachal -IMD forecasts weeklong  wet weather

Issuing continue Orange & Yellow alert for the next four days, Indian Meteorological Department updated the weather forecast here on Tuesday.

IMD said in a fresh communique issued here today that Orange Alert was sounded for April 18 and 19 and a Yellow alert on April 20 and 21 in Himachal Pradesh.

The mid-hill like to have widespread rainfall from today onwards till April 22 at most and many places in the state. Mid hills are likely to have widespread rainfall as most places are likely to have rain from April 18 to 20 and Many and a few places on April 21 and 22. Similar to the foothills many places are likely to have rainfall on April 18 to 20. Highreaches would also record rain in most places on April 18 and 19 and many and few places on April 20 and 21.

Owing to the Orange alert there is likely to occur heavy rainfall thunderstorms, lightning & hailstorm at some places in the plains, and low and mid hills on April 18 and 19.

Farmers also warned that it may cause damage to standing crops, fruit plants, and new plantings due to hailstorms.

The advisories and guidelines issued by the concerned departments. Take adequate safety measures for the expected impact of inclement weather and alert as it would lead to adverse impacts on the Horticulture Agriculture productions. Growers should use anti-hail nets over the crops and ensure the installation of anti-hail guns wherever possible.

Saloni in Chamba had three mm of rain, Tissa-2 mm, and Una one mm in the past 24 hrs. Light rain and thundershowers also lashed many places of Solan, Una, Shimla, and Sirmour districts as it was partly to mainly cloudy since this morning.

The maximum and minimum temperature was and likely to be normal in the state.
