3rd wave inevitable in the state, Govt continue to in state of preparation
Health Minister Rajiv Sehjal said there today that third wave is insatiable like 2nd wave however government is in the state of preparedness as after providing Oxygen plants, ICUs and other health requirements in institutions focus is being given on the vaccination among left out sections likechildren.
Addressing a press conference on the occasion of launching of specifical driver for children vaccinationhe said that parents and Children showed their keen interest to participate in the children vaccination drive today,
Health Minister who visited some of the schools told that media persons here todayno fear and doubt were seen among children as well as their parents give first shot of Covid vaccine to children of 15 to 18 yrs age grop as they turned up in large number to have first jab of vaccine.
Minister said that since third wave is predicted to be inevitable government has taken all measures in advanceto counter the wave however experts are predicting the outbreak of third wave in highly transmissible manurehowever it would not so much virulent and hospitalisation would not be intensified.
”The Government have already taken measures like providing vaccination to left out group like childrenand it would ensure that the hospital and necessary measures like social distancing and Covid norms are followed properly in the state’ more over people of this state are facilating the state to achieve the maximumtarget of vaccination’ he said.
The state council of ministers would meet on Jan 5 to take the call of increasing strictness for Covid 3rd wavein the state. State Government would fix a target to vaccinate maximum children every days as many as 30000to 40000 vaccines were being provided to each district every days .
Omicron variant cases are being traces on the day to day basis as 20 to 22 samples of patients were sent to nine labs assigned by the National centre of Communicable Diseases New Delhi however it is takingtime as large numbers of samples are coming before the limited labs in the country, Minister said.
He also added that Government would urged the centre to increase the pace of testing of Omicron casesso that it could be brought under control he said that there are very limited labs however flow of genome analysiscases are very high. Minister said that management of Omicron patients would be done on the line of previous Covidvariant cases,
He said that Covax vaccine is being administrated to 4.50 lakh children during this drive which is expected tobe completed on Jan 15 for the first dose. He said that From Jan 10 special drive for the boaster dose of Covid shield would be began to the Health Workers and Senior citizens above 60 yrs suffering with the comorbidity.
Minister hope that like previous campaign to vaccinate the maximum eligible people department would ensure that state continue take leads to vaccinate maximum children and front-line health workers.
