31261 patients benefited from Himcare in HP
The Himcare scheme has benefited as many as 31261 patients in the Indra Gandhi Medical College Hospital for providing free treatment to various diseases.
This was stated by the Senior Medical Superintendent of IGMC Dr Janak Raj while addressing media persons about the progress of state welfare schemes for the health services in the state.
Dr Raj said that during financial year 2018 – 19 an amount of Rs 4 crore, 46 lakh, 35 thousand 950 was spent on 2615 patients. In fy 2019-20, Rs 17 crore 36 lakh \38 thousand 543 was spent on 10169 patients and in fy 2020- 21, amount of Rs 21 crore 93 lakh, Rs 86 thousand 286 was spent on 11078 patients.
Apart from this, an amount of Rs 13 crore 92 lakh, Rs 63 thousand 813 has been spent on 7399 patients so far in the year 2021.
Him Care Scheme was launched by the state Government on the lines of Ayushman Bharat by the Central Government in IGMC, for all such citizens who are not able to avail benefits under ABS.
SMS informed that 56 types of tests are done free of cost for all categories of patients. Tests like CT scan MRI ultrasound are also done free of cost to BPL, cancer and disabled patients.
The very poor patients who reached the hospital for treatment are also be provided medial assistance under the Chief Minister’s Medical Assistance Fund.
He appealed the people to enroll them under Him Care Portal started by the state Health Department with effect from January next as under this, people could renewed and get new cards.
People must check the validity of the card by visiting the nearest Lok Mitra center so that they do not face any problem in getting the card activated when they come to the hospital.
” Generally patients reach the hospital without verifying the validity of their cards facing lot of difficulty in getting the card activated due to the expiry of the validity or if names of the family members not being entered correctly in the card.
The hospital administration could not provide proper treatment to the patients is such cases sometimes life of the patient also becomes in danger this laxity .
Under one himcare card maximum five persons of the family could get benefit and maximum Rs 5 lakh health benefit could be availed.
The amount could be increase for special procedure if patient suffering from some serious disease and if cost of treatment exceed beyond Rs 5 lakh.
For better implementation of Him Care Scheme, Administrative Officers and two Nursing Superintendent shave been deployed in the IGMC to ensure that the patients coming to the hospital do not face any problem in getting benefits under Himcare Scheme.
NGT did not give nod to newly built IGMC unit
Replying to a media query Dr Raj said that IGMC newly developed unit could not be dedicated to people in the hospital as National Green Tribunal have did not given final nod to it.
Mr Raj said that IGMC has conducted the autopsy of four years boys killed by the wild animal in Downdale however it could not verify if the boy was killed by the Leopard attack. The IGMC would the autopsy report did not verify that the kids died of the attack made by the leopards and the wildlife officials could explain about s the name of wild animals.
