1971 war is World’s biggest victory after 2nd world- war : Brigadier Rajesh Sihag
Army Training Command (ARTRAC) commemorate 50th Anniversary of 1971 Indo-Pak War on the occasion of Swarinm Vijay Divas at Army Heritage Museum at Annadale here today.
Brigadier (Administration) Rajesh Sihag of Headquarter ARTRAC said on this occasion that on Dec 16 , 1971 Pakistan Army General Amir Abdullah Khan Niyaji surrendered before the Indian Army Western Command Lieutenant General Jagjeet Singh Arora with around 93000 Pakistani soldiers.
Remembering the sacrifices made by the Jawan of Indian Defense forces especially Jawan belonged to the state of Himachal in the field of war. Br Sihag said that after the 2nd World war this is considered the biggest victory by any Army and biggest surrender by any world armed forces.
Address ING jawan of Army, state police and local administration and family members of Martyr and war widow of 1971 Indo Pak War Br Sihag said that this war is considered the most emphatic victory won by India after the Independence and its history is great example of sacrifices made in the field of war for the nation by the soldiers of Himachal Pradesh.
Bg Sihag said this event is being held to honor Indian Armed forces to commemorate its soldiers for laying and playing with their assuring historic victory in 1971. The 50 yrs ago the Saga of victory written by the Indian brave have to be remembered by the coming generation.
He said that on Oct 16 ,2020 four victory torches of Swarinm Vijay Divas were left from National War Memorial Delhi in presence of Indian Prime minister and these victory torches have sent to all four directions of this country to reach at the birth places of martyr soldiers laid their life in the War
He said that people of this state always supported the Indian Armed forces and would also continue to hail the
Army. Himachal Pradesh is famous as the land of great warriors as it gave birth to a number of brave soldiers.
Victory torch of 1971 war arrived here on Dec 18 , 2020 in the land of martyr Captain Jeetinder Nath, Sepoy Tek Chand, Sepoy Kundan Lal and Col Shanti Prakash of the state.
He dedicated the victory torch to great warriors in the function held to honor their bravery and sacrifices to great nation. This torch would be handed over to Western Command Kasuli on Oct 23 from the ARTRAC to keep it with cantonment.
The war widow and wards of 1971 martyr Captain Jintinder Nath, Sepoy Tek Chand, Sepoy Kundan Lal and Col Shanti Prakash were invited in the event and honored and felicated on the occasion of the grand commemoration ceremony held today.
The Indian and state Government were organizing special events from Oct 18 to Dec 20 on the golden jubilee of completion of 1971 Indo-Pak war.
