16 people feared die, two injured in rain related mishap in HP
As many as 16 people feared died and two injured in three rain related mishap occurred in Lahaul Spiti, Kullu and Chamba district of Himachal.
State Disaster management authority said that seven bodies recovered in the rescue operation. Tozing nallah in Lahaul Subdivision reported massive flash flood washing away a shed along with ten labourer seven bodies recovered by ITBP and state police and three reported missing. Two labourer injured in a mishap.
Deceased are identified as Mohamed Slaim s/o Lal Deen, Village- Village-Kunderdhan, VPO Ghota, Tehsil Kisaya, District Reasi, J&KSher Singh age (62) S/o Gola Ram, R/o Vill. Dhamsoi, Gram Panchayat Takoli, distt. Mandi, Room Singh age (41) S/o Krishan Kumar, Vill. Dhamsoi, GP Takoli, distt. Mandi. Mehar Chand age (50) S/o Luharu, R/o Vill. Dhamsoi, Gram Panchayat Takoli, distt. Mandi, Nirath Ram age (42) S/o Tuarsu Ram, R/o Vill. Dhamsoi, Gram Panchayat Takoli, distt. Mandi, an Unidentified Bodyand Half body was recovered.
In this incident, one Private JCB and Two labourers shed have been washed away and it is also feared that around 10 persons might be missing.
Injured identified as Mohammad Altaaf (age 19) S/o Nazir Ahmed, Vill. Kundar Thaar, J & K referred to Kullu.
Police & ITBP Rescue team were dispatched but due to heavy flow of water further search operation hamperred would continue today.
Four people are missing from Manikaran area of Kullu district this morning as they drawn in a swallow nallah victim are identified as Poonam her four years son Master Nikunj, Mrs. Dineeta (Tourist) andMr. Vijender (Hydro project official).

Two people died in rain related mishap in Chamba district as a JCB(earth movers) washed away in flash flood in Chamba district on Wednesday. JCB has been recovered but it’s operator identified asSunil Kumar S/O Bikuram Village Kudkal P.O Shirkund, Sub Teh. Pukari of Chamba died in the mishap.
One other person died in Chamba district as he fell down from a cliff deceased was identified as Nikku S/o Sh. Jaidyal,Village Siulla Tehsil Salooni.

State Government requestioned National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) to assist in the rescue operation and restoration of normal life in the flash flood affected people.
Manali-Leh national highways is blocked at Shaksnallah since 1755 hrs on Tuesday after a flood has occurred near Village Keylong in Sub Division Lahaul. BRO would resume the restoration work after the weather is clear.
Chandigarh-Manali national highways is also blocked after a landslide at Dabada, Jololla and Khoti nallah today mid night disrupting vehicular traffic between Mandi and Kullu town also.
