150 stranded passengers in Lahaul, 105 rescued
Around 150 passengers stranded at Dorni Nallah on Samdhu-Kaza Gramphu route in Lahaul-Spiti district yesterday 105 were rescued safely this morning state government spokesperson confirmed in s press release issued here today. A flash flood occurred at Dornii Nallah on SKG route in Sub Division Lahaul on Sunday afternoon. In this incident road has been blocked and around more than 150 Passenger are stranded near Chatru and Dornimode. A Rescue team comprising of Naib Tehsildar Sub Division Keylong, Police and Border Road Organization -94 RCC has rushed to the spot and rescue Operation is under process. The report arriving here said that 105 passengers rescued from Chattru by joint rescue operation by state Police & district administration. Police chief of Lahaul Spiti Manav Verma said that out of 150, 80 have left for Manali and the remaining have been accommodated in Koksar and Sissu. Another 25 persons (mostly drivers) have remained back in Chhatru with their vehicles. Heavy rainfall, landslide and flash flood wreaked havoc in Bilaspur, Kullu and Lahaul-Spiti district in past 24 hrs. Two bridges and seven roads are blocked in nine landslide and flashflood mishasp.
