15 pc mandatory flow of water: Dept seeks FIR against three project
Himachal Pradesh Jal Shakti Vibhag sought FIR against three hydro electric projects for not following 15 pc mandatory release of water in the Nogli khad interrupted many water supply scheme on the bank of river. Assistant Engineer Rampur of Jal Shakti Vibhag had sought action and lodging of FIR against HEP Jogni – I , Jogni – II and Kareri allegedly continuously interrupting the flow in Khad. He said that HEPs are bound, to discharge mandatory flow of 15 pc water and bound under the terms & conditions of agreement to release enough water . He said that project couldn’t not store or interrupt the flow of water in the khad , but they are interrupting the flow every day due to which our Major four drinking water supply schemes are affected badly . AE requested the management of project telephonically many times before lodging Complaint in this matter. The beneficiaries of these water supply schemes are facing great problem of drinking water and pressing the department hard to supply the water properly, because they are not getting adequate drinking water. Mostly affected areas are Rampur Town , Nogli, Dakolar Shingla , Uru etc. SDM said seeking lodging of FIR against three projects and take the necessary action against these projects. Private projects are blamed to drying the discharge of water in the rivers also ruined aquatic life like fishes in the rivers
